Wrangler Families: As we near the end of this semester, we wanted to remind you all of the new cell phone/electronic device policy that will take effect when we return in January. Cell phones have become major distractions for many of our students. They have been central in many of our disciplinary issues as well. Students are often in conversations and activities on their phones while teachers are trying to provide meaningful instruction and increase student engagement. Thus, after much consultation with leadership, district and building level, our SRO, other administrators and several teachers, we have decided to change our student cell phone policy. Effective Monday, January 3, 2022, ALL student cell phones & electronic devices are to be OFF (not silent) and in a backpack at all times except before school (prior to 8:45), lunch, and after school (after 4:00). A slide of the policy along with a slide of the consequences for violations will be posted on our social media and website. This policy will continue for the foreseeable future, including into the 2022-2023 school year and beyond. Please contact Dr. Flanigan with any questions or concerns. We strive to create optimal learning environments for our students and optimal teaching environments for our teachers. We feel this is another step in that direction. Thank you for all you do! #DestinationGeorge #THEChoice
