Social Studies classes visited the Library Media Center this December for a breakout lesson, working together to solve clues, analyze sources, and unlock key moments from our state’s history. Learning, teamwork, and a little excitement made history come alive in the LMC here at GJHS!

Ms. Padilla's Spanish for Native Speakers class recently presented travel brochures they created to their classmates. Much was learned by all. Great work, class!

We are incredibly proud to announce that Ms. Cara Sedberry has been named the Secondary Schools Assistant Principal of the Year for the State of Arkansas! This well-deserved honor recognizes her outstanding leadership, dedication, and impact on students, staff, and the entire school community.
Since joining our campus, Ms. Sedberry has played a vital role in transforming our school’s climate into one rooted in positivity, support, and high expectations. We want to thank Beaver Water District for the gracious donation of water bottles for our students! We appreciate your generosity!

Students in Miss Beers's Spanish I class are using dancing and singing to learn important Spanish vocabulary and grammar concepts! Star students get to wear a sombrero when we are dancing around!

Hands-on learning in action! 🔬✨🧲 Our 8th graders explored distance and potential energy through a magnet investigation—observing, collecting data, graphing results, and discussing their discoveries. Students rotated to different teachers to maximize learning opportunities! #DestinationGeorge #SpringdaleFamily #StudentSuccess #ScienceInAction

Don't forget to stop by the Animal Shelter Angel tree located in the office @GJH. All donations will be delivered to the Springdale Animal Shelter Dec. 19th. Free paw keychain: first come, along with Minga points for student participation.

Mrs. Lane's 8th grade math class came back from break energized and ready to learn as they finish the semester strong! The class is using the "Building Thinking Classrooms" approach to reinforce solving equations. This approach creates a classroom culture where students collaborate, persevere through challenges, and engage deeply in problem-solving. #Destination George #SpringdaleFamily #StudentSuccess

This week, students from Mrs. Lobb's, Ms. McDonald's, and Coach White's 9th grade classes are reviewing for the State Civics Exam by participating in Mrs. Lobb's self-created game, Lobbapolooza, a game similar to Quiz Bowl. Classes were divided into teams and competed against one another, having fun while learning about the rights and responsibilities of citizenship, how government works at local, state, and federal levels, and the principles and history of our country's democracy. The State Civics Exam will be given next week. #DestinationGeorge

Board Game Café was a hit this week! It was so great to see students slow down, unplug, and enjoy time with friends. #DestinationGeorge

Earlier this semester, our 9th graders put Newton’s Second Law to the test—with eggs on the line! 🥚💥Students engineered their own protective devices using a variety of materials, then Coach Reece dropped them from the school roof to see if their designs could survive the fall.⬇️ Only a few eggs made it, but everyone cracked open a better understanding of how mass and acceleration affect force—and had an unforgettable learning experience! #DestinationGeorge #SpringdaleFamily #MadScientist

Students in 8th and 9th grade FCS classes baked up some tasty pancakes and some yummy omelets last week! #DestinationGeorge #FCS #SpringdaleFamily

🚍✨ Our GJHS 9th graders hit the road today for an exciting opportunity! Students traveled to Springdale High School for the Future Bulldog Career Pathway Tour on Thursday, November 20.
