On July 21, 2022, former Springdale High School graduates and Law and Public Academy Completers, Daniela Flores and Mark Solis, graduated from the Arkansas Law Enforcement Training Academy and will be working as officers with the Springdale Police Department once they complete their field training. We are so proud of these SHS graduates, pictured here with one of their Law Academy teachers, Brooke Lockhart.

About 550 guiding coalition members, teachers and administrators from all Springdale Public Schools participated in the event as they take steps to set the stage for Collaborative Team Meetings for the 2022-23 school year. #SpringdaleFamily

About 180 Springdale Public Schools coaches attended a Back to School Coaches Meeting July 28 at Har-Bar High School. Featured event speakers included veteran University of Arkansas basketball coach Matt Zimmerman and former University of Arkansas placekicker Kendall Trainor. The University of Arkansas dropped off a generous donation of school supplies today at Monitor Elementary School. The supplies were funded through Project SOAR and Project Connect grants. The items are surplus supplies from the projects’ summer programming that will now benefit Monitor students. Thank you for being such amazing partners in education! #SpringdaleFamily

Long named as Arkansas Teacher of the Year regional finalist The Division of Elementary and Secondary Education announced July 15 that Springdale Public Schools' Stephanie Long has been named as a 2023 Arkansas Teacher of the Year regional finalist. “It is my privilege to announce the Arkansas Teacher of the Year Regional Finalists,” said Johnny Key, ADE Secretary. “These educators represent the best in the teaching profession at their local schools and have demonstrated a commitment to the teaching profession. Congratulations on achieving this honor and recognition!” Long has served her whole teaching career with the district and has taught at Turnbow Elementary her entire 13 years with Springdale Schools. She is also a 2022 state finalist for science for the Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching. Regional Teacher of the Year finalists will be recognized Aug. 4 at the Governor's Mansion. Four state semi-finalists for Teacher of the Year will be selected from the 13 regional finalists and will be announced at the event. One of the four state semi-finalists will be named the 2023 Arkansas Teacher of the Year this fall and will go on to compete for the 2023 National Teacher of the Year recognition.
