Six Springdale Public Schools student-athletes signed official National Signing Day letters of intent Feb. 7 at ceremonies at Har-Ber and Springdale high schools.

Landon Baker
Har-Ber High School’s Landon Baker committed to play lacrosse for Ottawa University in Ottawa, Kan.
“I feel very honored and privileged to be given the opportunity to continue my playing career at Ottawa University,” Baker said. “It has always been a dream for me to play at the next level, and I’m grateful a school like Ottawa took a chance on me.”
Baker will compete as a close defenseman for Ottawa, the same position he plays for Har-Ber.
The senior has played lacrosse for six years and is a preseason player to watch for the 2024 lacrosse season in the Natural State Lacrosse league.
“I was a state champion in 2023,” Baker said.
The student-athlete plans on studying business with an emphasis on finance and marketing in college.
“I would like to go into the real estate business and specifically go and be a realtor,” Baker said.
Baker lives in Springdale and is the son of Jimmy and Kristyn Baker.
Jakayla Bunch
Jakayla Bunch, 18, signed a letter of intent to play basketball for Crowder College in Neosho, Mo.
“I feel really blessed to have this great opportunity,” Bunch said.
The student-athlete has maintained a 2.9 GPA and has played with Springdale for three years, two as a varsity letterman. Bunch also competed as a 6A West All-Conference athlete and was a member of the KURM Dream Team and the Carl Junction all-tournament team.
Bunch plays as a guard for the Springdale High School Bulldogs, the same position she’ll play with the Roughriders.
The senior lives in Springdale and is the daughter of Latisha Bunch and Ryan Nelson.
Bunch plans on studying cosmetology in college and hopes to open her open business someday.
Jaren Land
Jaren Land signed a National letter of Intent to play football for Missouri Southern State University in Joplin, Miss.
“I am very excited and honored to be able to further my academic and athletic career,” Land said.
The student-athlete counts winning second team in all-conference for 2023-24 among his career highlights.
Land, 18, is a senior at Har-Ber High School and is an offensive tackle and guard for the Wildcats. He’ll play as an offensive lineman for the Lions.
“I am very excited to be a Lion,” he said.
The student-athlete has played football for 11 years and plans on majoring in education in college.
“I want to start a career in coaching football and teaching high school, because I love the game of football and want to help young men and women,” he said.
Land’s parents are Braden and Abby Land of Springdale.
Andrew Lind
Andrew Lind of Springdale High School committed to play baseball for Howard College in Big Spring, Texas.
“I feel great, and I’m excited to start the next chapter in my life,” Lind said.
The senior’s on-field accomplishments include making all-conference his year junior year and competing at state.
The student-athlete calls Springdale home, and his parents are Jason and Heather Lind.
Lind, 17, has played baseball since he was 8 and plays third base and pitcher for the Wildcats. He'll play third base for the Roughriders.
He said he plans to major in business management at Howard and to go into the business field following college.
John Paul Scoggins
John Paul "J.P." Scoggins signed a letter of intent to play baseball for Crowder College in Neosho, Mo.
Scoggins said he’s ecstatic to play baseball at the college level, which has always been a dream of his.
The student-athlete will play as an outfielder and pitcher for the Roughriders, the same positions he plays for the Bulldogs.
“Ride ‘em rough!” he said, sharing a Crowder athletics motto.
The student-athlete is a VIA senior with Don Tyson School of Innovation, who plays baseball for Springdale High School.
Scoggins has been playing baseball for 10 years.
The 18-year-old will explore general studies at Crowder and plans on a career in sports or athlete development.
“I aspire to stay around baseball after I’m done playing, whether it be an athletic trainer or coach,” Scoggins said.
Scoggins' parents are Tami and Duane Scoggins of Springdale.
Aubriana Wilson
Aubriana Wilson, 17, committed to compete in basketball for Crowder College in Neosho, Mo.
“I feel relief that all of my years of hard work payed off,” Wilson said. “I am grateful that God gave me the opportunity to be able to continue and have my college paid for.”
Wilson is a senior at Don Tyson School of Innovation, but plays as a point and shooting guard for Springdale High School. She will compete as a point guard for Crowder.
The student-athlete has been playing basketball for nine years and counts competing as a three-year varsity letterman, playing in the 6A West All-Conference and twice on the 6A West All-Defensive Team and being selected as a member of the KURM Dream Team and a two-time Kameron Hale Invitational Player of the Game among her athletic career highs.
“I will forever be grateful for my time at Springdale High School,” Wilson said. “Thank you to everyone who has supported me!”
Wilson calls Springdale home and is the daughter of Rebekah and Charlie Wilson.
She plans on studying biology in college and aspires to become a wildlife biologist and veterinarian.
