The Amazing Shake, an event modeled with guidance and support from the Ron Clark Academy, is a competition that places an emphasis on teaching students manners, discipline, respect, and professional conduct. Students learn the nuances of professional human interaction as they are taught skills such as how to give a proper handshake, how to "work a room," how to give a successful interview, and how to remain composed under pressure. The goal is to prepare our students so that they are able to present themselves exceptionally well for opportunities today as well as those that will come in the future.
The 2-day competition consists of case-scenario stations set up that every student must pass through while exercising etiquette, composure and savoir-faire. Top performers advance to the next level of challenges until there is ultimately one overall Amazing Shake champion!
The Amazing Shake Competition that happened today at the Jones Center featured 60 students from Springdale and 15 from Rogers who all attend the SOAR Afterschool Program.

In particular, our goal is to showcase the extensive range and varied perspectives of our students and their artistic ideas through the artworks that they have produced this past year. Garver is working with the City of Tontitown to prepare a stormwater master plan. This master plan will aid the City in prioritizing projects that will address drainage problems throughout town.
SHS & HBHS | High School Art Exhibition
This exhibition highlights the broad and varied creative works that are being produced inside the High School Visual Art programs at both Springdale (SHS) and Har-Ber (HBHS) High Schools. In particular, our goal is to showcase the extensive range and varied perspectives of our students and their artistic ideas through the artworks that they have produced this past year.
There are multiple works on display, both 2D and 3D, and each of these are representative of the immense creativity and talent that is present within each of these schools’ visual art programs.
Works in this exhibition have been created from various classes offered in two of our district’s high school art programs, including AP Art & Design, Drawing, Painting, Sculpture, and Ceramics. As well, these works have been grouped either thematically or by class type, highlighting not only what individual students are creating, but also, how groups of students are conceptualizing and actively going about making art projects that follow along a particular theme or set of ideas that are learned and developed within the art classroom
All in all, we are extremely proud of our students, and very excited to bring to light, the talent and creativity present at the visual art programs at both SHS and HBHS in the Springdale School District.
