Springdale Public Schools has named Shannon Tisher as the district’s deputy superintendent.

Tisher has served her entire 26 years as an educator with Springdale Schools and is transitioning to her new role after serving seven years as a district associate superintendent.

“I am deeply honored to be selected as deputy superintendent and wish to thank the Springdale School Board and Dr. Cleveland for their confidence in my leadership,” Tisher said. “It is a privilege to follow in the footsteps of Dr. Marcia Smith, whose legacy will continue to inspire us all.”

Superintendent Dr. Jared Cleveland said Tisher is a tremendous leader who embodies the very spirit of Springdale Schools.

"Having watched her excel as a teacher, assistant principal, principal, and associate superintendent, I have total confidence in her as she steps into Dr. Marcia Smith's shoes," Cleveland said. "Shannon has a proven track record of excellence, and I am incredibly grateful she has accepted the challenge to keep our district on its positive trajectory. I look forward to working alongside her as we lead our amazing schools into a future focused on choice and excellence."

Tisher has also served as the Don Tyson School of Innovation principal for one year, a Southwest Junior High School principal for four years, a Har-Ber High School assistant principal for five years, a George Junior High School assistant principal for two years, a Har-Ber instructional facilitator for two years and a Springdale High School English teacher for five years.

“Having spent my entire career in Springdale, this community, our students, families and staff, are incredibly special to me,” Tisher said. “There truly is no place like Springdale, and I am eager to get to work in this new role, serving the district that has given me so much.”

Tisher holds a Bachelor of Arts in English, a Master of Arts in teaching, and an Ed.S. in educational leadership from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. She's currently pursuing a Ed.D doctorate at the University of Arkansas as well.F

Tisher said she hopes to bring a deep-rooted understanding of the district’s unique needs paired with a commitment to collaborative leadership to her new role.

“I hope to prioritize a culture of partnership that empowers our district staff to continue to innovate,” Tisher said. “In conjunction with Dr. Cleveland and the administrative team, I want to ensure that Springdale remains a place where every staff member thrives and every student graduates ready for the world.”

Tisher and her husband, Mitch, have been married for 24 years and live in Springdale. The couple has two children, Max and Miley.

“Max is a Har-Ber High School graduate, and Miley is a senior at Har-Ber High School,” Tisher said. “We love to travel and spend time outdoors. I am so very blessed to have such a supportive family. I have been able to pursue my career in educational leadership because of their ongoing support.”
