Springdale Public Schools has announced Brandolyn Peterson as the new assistant principal of George Elementary School.
“I’m excited and honored to step into the role of assistant principal at George Elementary,” Peterson said. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve this school community and support students, staff and families, while continuing to grow as a leader. I’m really looking forward to getting to know all of the parents, students and staff.”
Brandolyn is transitioning to George from her role as the assistant principal of Bayyari Elementary School.
Principal Justin Swope said he also had the good fortune of hiring Peterson as a classroom teacher at the former Lee Elementary School and looks forward to working with the administrator again.
“She was hardworking, data-driven and always willing to try new teaching approaches,” he said. “As she transitioned to school leadership in her roles as instructional facilitator and assistant principal, I've enjoyed seeing her grow in her leadership and expertise.”
Peterson has served in a variety of vital roles in her 15 years with the district, including instructional assistant, instructional facilitator, teacher and assistant principal at Bayyari Elementary School, as well as a teacher at Lee Elementary.
Peterson holds a Bachelor of Science from John Brown University in Siloam Springs, as well as master’s degrees in Theory and Practice from Arkansas State University in Jonesboro and Educational Leadership from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. She is also a National Board Certified Teacher specializing in Early Childhood English as a New Language.
Superintendent Dr. Jared Cleveland said Peterson brings a strong instructional focus and a deep commitment to student learning.
“Her No. 1 priority is the success and well-being of students and families, and we are confident her leadership will support continued growth and achievement at George Elementary,” he said.
Outside of school, Peterson enjoys spending time with family and friends.
“I also have three therapy dogs that I love bringing into the community to serve and support others,” she said. “I value building relationships and creating a positive, supportive environment in all that I do.”
