Springdale Public Schools has named Natalie Gregory as the new Harp Elementary School Assistant Principal.
“Stepping into the role of Harp assistant principal is truly a dream come true for me,” Gregory said. “I am excited to be able to continue strengthening relationships with students, parents, teachers and the community.”
She said she’ll miss outgoing Assistant Principal Dr. Tammy Butler’s presence at the school.
“Dr. Butler's absence deeply impacted our school family,” Gregory said. “She will always be a part of Harp Elementary, and I will work to provide the same high level of instructional leadership that she provided.”
Gregory has served as an educator for more than 23 years and transitions to the role of assistant principal after serving as a Harp instructional facilitator for more than eight years.
“Gregory has served Harp since its opening as both a teacher and instructional facilitator," said Springdale Superintendent Dr. Jared Cleveland. "She brings a deep understanding of teaching and learning and is a highly respected member of the Harp Elementary community."
Harp Elementary opened in 2002, and where Gregory also taught third grade for two years, second grade for two years, fifth grade for three years and kindergarten for eight years.
“It has been a blessing to be part of Harp Elementary since the beginning,” Gregory said “Because of that, I have had the opportunity to contribute to a culture and climate that is like no other. The people that I get to work with each day are truly gifted in caring deeply for all students.”
Gregory holds a Bachelor of Science in Childhood Education, a Master of Arts in Teaching Elementary Education and a Building Level Administrative Endorsement from the University of Arkansas.
Gregory said she plans to continue the school’s momentum toward a strong instructional focus and increasing teacher collective efficacy.
“Our students and staff are committed to learning and achieving to earn ‘A’ status,” she said. “My plan is to help support that goal and strengthen our partnerships with parents and the community.”
Harp Principal Molly Brock said Gregory has always been an integral part of Harp Elementary, and her deep understanding of instruction, students and school culture makes her the perfect fit for the role of assistant principal.
“Natalie brings a strong foundation in teaching and learning and a genuine commitment to our school community,” Brock said. “We are excited to welcome her into this leadership position!”
In her free time, Gregory enjoys spending time with her husband, Justin, and their two daughters, Emma Claire and Ava Grace.
“We enjoy camping, long days on the lake and cheering for the Razorbacks,” she said.
