Har-Ber Selects Northcutt to Lead Silver Stars

Jodi Northcutt has been selected to teach English at Har-Ber High School and was named as the head coach of the school’s Silver Stars dance team.

“I would like to thank Dr. Cleveland, Coach Fimple, Coach Wood and Dr. Griep for this amazing opportunity to lead the amazing group of young women on the Silver Stars and to serve the students at Har-Ber High School,” Northcutt said.

Northcutt comes to Har-Ber from Ozark Catholic Academy and Rhythm and Shoes Dance Studio in Tontitown.

She’s been an educator for 14 years.

“I worked at Ozark Catholic Academy for one year as a college and curriculum consultant,” Northcutt said. “Before that, I taught English and did the college and academic advising for 13 years between Haas Hall Academy and St. Vincent de Paul.”

The district and school athletics coaching staff looked extensively for a candidate who understood the culture of the Silver Stars and how much the team means to Har-Ber and the Springdale community, said Paul Griep, Har-Ber High School principal.

“The Silver Stars are iconic with Har-Ber High School,” Griep said. “They not only support our teams at athletic events, but they also compete across the region and the state.”

The dance team was ranked ninth the nation for the 2022-23 school year due to the team’s hard work and commitment to excellence, he said.

“We are excited about Coach Northcutt and her vision for our team,” Griep said. “Coach Northcutt has a strong reputation for her knowledge and care for young people and will be an outstanding member of our Wildcat family.”

Northcutt said she hopes to bring energy and passion to the Silver Stars.

“I am excited to watch the team grow both on and off the field,” she said. “Together, we will do wonderful things!”

Northcutt earned a Bachelor of Arts in sociology from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville and is currently pursuing a master’s degree through the University of Oklahoma in Norman.

She’s been married to husband Justin Northcutt, an Ozarks Electric Cooperative electrical engineer, for 16 years. The couple has two daughters, Stella Kate, 7, and, Sadie, 5, and one son, Sutton, 2.
